國(guó)創(chuàng)詳解現(xiàn)代濾波器技術(shù)

  射頻濾波器最主要的指標(biāo)包括品質(zhì)因數(shù)Q和插入損耗。在目前的通訊協(xié)議中,不同頻帶間的頻率差越來越小,因此需要非常好選擇性,讓通帶內(nèi)的信號(hào)通過并阻擋通帶外的信號(hào)。Q越大,則濾波器可以實(shí)現(xiàn)越窄的通帶帶寬,也就是說可以實(shí)現(xiàn)較好的選擇性。

  除了品質(zhì)因數(shù)Q之外,插入損耗也是重要參數(shù)。插入損耗是指通帶信號(hào)被濾波器的衰減,即信號(hào)功率損耗。插入損耗有1dB,則信號(hào)功率被衰減20%;當(dāng)插入損耗到達(dá)3dB時(shí),則信號(hào)功率被衰減了50%!在4G時(shí)代,信號(hào)功率放大并不簡(jiǎn)單,如果又有許多功率被浪費(fèi)在濾波器上,則PA/LNA設(shè)計(jì)就更難了。

  目前射頻濾波器最主流的實(shí)現(xiàn)方式是SAW和BAW。SAW是聲表面濾波器,利用壓電效應(yīng)。當(dāng)對(duì)晶體施以電壓,晶體將發(fā)生機(jī)械形變,將電能轉(zhuǎn)換為機(jī)械能。當(dāng)這種晶體被機(jī)械壓縮或展延時(shí),機(jī)械能又轉(zhuǎn)換為電能。在晶體結(jié)構(gòu)的兩面形成電荷,使電流流過端子和/或形成端子間的電壓。在固態(tài)材料中,交替的機(jī)械形變會(huì)產(chǎn)生3,000至12,000米/秒速度的聲波。在聲表面波濾波器內(nèi),聲波在表面?zhèn)鞑ゲ⑿纬神v波,其品質(zhì)因數(shù)可達(dá)數(shù)千。

  然而,SAW濾波器也有自己的局限。SAW在1.5GHz以下使用非常合適,但是在工作頻率超過1.5GHz時(shí),SAW的Q值開始下降,到2.5GHz時(shí),SAW的選擇性已經(jīng)只能用在一些要求比較低的場(chǎng)合。然而,目前的無(wú)線通訊協(xié)議已經(jīng)早就工作大于2.5GHz的頻段(例如4G TD-LTE的Band 41)等,這時(shí)候SAW就不夠用了,必須使用體聲波(BAW)濾波器。

  BAW濾波器不同于SAW濾波器,BAW濾波器內(nèi)的聲波垂直傳播,貼嵌于石英基板頂、底兩側(cè)的金屬對(duì)聲波實(shí)施激勵(lì),使聲波從頂部表面反彈至底部,以形成駐聲波。在2.5GHz的頻段,BAW壓電層的厚度必須在幾微米量級(jí),因此,要在載體基板上采用薄膜沉積和微機(jī)械加工技術(shù)實(shí)現(xiàn)諧振器結(jié)構(gòu)。

  為了把聲波的能量局限在濾波器體內(nèi),可以使用BAW-SMR技術(shù)或FBAR技術(shù)。BAW-SMR技術(shù)通過堆疊不同材質(zhì)的薄層形成一個(gè)反射器,而FBAR技術(shù)則在有冤屈下方蝕刻出空腔以實(shí)現(xiàn)懸浮膜。

  BAW濾波器在高頻段可實(shí)現(xiàn)低插入損耗和高Q值,成為高性能射頻系統(tǒng)的首選。然而,BAW濾波器的成本目前還很高,這成為了限制BAW普及的重要因素。
